Red Rice (Patni) – Conscious food
Patni is a short and thick-grained rice. Being unpolished and unhulled, it has a higher nutritional value than refined white rice. This attributes to its lovely nutty flavour and crunchy texture. It contains anthocyanins which are anti inflammatory plant based compounds found in other colored foods such as aubergine, blueberries, tomatoes, beets and so on.
